Hyrum Gunnison DeFord

Our baby boy was born Sunday September 30th, (Sally's and my seven-year wedding anniversary) at about 3:00am. He weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces. We've named him Hyrum Gunnison DeFord. We'll call him Hank.

He came really fast. Sally started having regular contractions at 11:45 Saturday night. Her water broke at 12. We went to the hospital at 1, Hank was born at 3. It was an intense couple of hours. During the birth Hank was in distress and his heart rate started to decrease and they needed to get him out fast. The doc said they would have to take the baby by c-section, at which time Sally made one last heroic push and they dragged him out. They took him to intensive care to help him recover from the birth trauma and watched him for a day.

Hank and Sally are doing well. Hank is bald as can be but will most likely grow in some white hair like Wyatt. Wyatt is constantly giving Hank hugs and kisses and calling him his baby brother. We are so happy to have him here and part of our our family. More pictures and doting to come.

    Willie & Sally,

We are so excited for you! He is so cute! I'm so glad that you were able to avoid the c-section. You are such a trooper. We are 30 weeks and counting. My goal this week is to make it 32 weeks. Mckinley was born at 31 so anything after that is going to be great! Keep us updated on how you are doing.

    All our love,

    The Waites

    Congrats DeFord fam!

I'm so glad that you are such a strong and capable woman Sally and that you were able to avoid a c-section. No doubt the fast labor stressed Hank a bit but it's wonderful to hear that he made it quickly and safely.

Wyatt is as cute as ever and it looks like little Hank will follow suit nicely! :)

Congrats again and Happy Anniversary as well! What a great way to spend it.

    Hugs to all,
    Brandy L.

    Hey Willie and Sally,
Congratulations! It looks like things are going really great for you! Crazy that I ran into you, Willie, on temple square last year. I actually ended up giving Greg your email, so hopefully he contacted you. My husband, Bryce, didn't get into any Colorado law schools, but that's okay. We ended up here in Spokane (Bryce is going to Gonzaga) and we're where we're supposed to be, so it all worked out.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that we just started a blog and I added you guys...I hope that's okay (please let me know if it's not). Check us out at paigeandbryce.blogspot.com

    Love,
    Paige
